- Product description: Wholesale down alternative comforter factory China. Machine washable all-season quilted comforters, Twin to King, OEM/ODM, MOQ 100, sample USD 30.
The first email we usually get about this product goes something like: "Can you make something that looks like a down comforter but survives the laundry?" That is the whole point of down alternative, and it is why hotels and bedding brands buy it. A laundry room running dozens of Comforters a day cannot babysit delicate down filling — washing and drying cycles are short, and a duvet that comes back clumped is a duvet that gets replaced. Down alternative washes, dries quickly, and costs less to replace, which is exactly what a housekeeping budget needs.
We are Comfytouch, a bedding factory in Hefei, Anhui, China. Our down alternative line covers quilted comforters and duvet inserts with synthetic fills, sewn in our own workshop — so a change of size, warmth level, filling or label goes straight to the production floor instead of through a middleman.
One request before you order in bulk: take a sample. Fills feel different from factory to factory, and "lightweight" means different things to a hotel in Dubai and a hotel in Oslo. Sample terms are at the bottom of this page.
Why hotels and brands move to down alternative
Three reasons come up in almost every enquiry.
The first is laundry: machine washable, fast drying covers the reality of hotel housekeeping far better than delicate natural fills. The second is warm sleepers — guests who push a down comforter off the bed at night usually sleep better under a lighter, breathable fill, and fewer complaints about heat is a quiet win for review scores. The third is budget and consistency: down alternative gives a repeatable look and feel across a large room count, and replacement cost is easier to defend in a purchasing budget.

If your market also asks about hypoallergenic positioning, tell us at enquiry stage — we will explain what can and cannot be claimed with the fill and shell options we offer, based on the batch test report rather than marketing language.
Box quilting and fill — what keeps it from going flat
Two things separate a comforter that lasts three seasons from one that lasts one: how the fill is held in place, and how the seams are finished.
Box quilting (rather than plain sewn-through lines) keeps the filling evenly distributed so you do not get cold spots or a lumpy edge after washing. We also add corner loops so the comforter ties into a duvet cover — in hotels this is what stops the insert from sliding down inside the cover, which is a small detail guests notice immediately.

The shell is a 225 gsm quilted square-pattern cotton/polyester shell, reversible, and we can run a wash-and-dry check on your sample before bulk so you can judge clumping and shape retention yourself rather than take our word for it (wash test on the sample order: USD 30 per piece, refundable against the first bulk order).
How a comforter OEM order runs
Orders work like this: you send the target spec (size, warmth level, filling preference, shell option) or a photo of a comforter you already sell → we confirm the construction → a sample goes out as soon as the spec is agreed, with the lead time confirmed in our quotation → you wash it, put it on a bed, show it to your buyer → you approve → we book production and send a QC photo set before shipping.

Branded work is routine: main labels, care labels and hang tags are made to your artwork, and compressed or individual packing is available (custom packing from 500 pcs). Repeat orders keep your spec on file, so the next season starts from a one-line email. If you import into the EU or the US, tell us at the start — care label language, fibre content naming and packing rules differ, and fixing them at the sewing stage is far cheaper than relabelling at the port.
What to send in your enquiry so we quote it right the first time
A complete enquiry saves a round of emails. Send us:
Target market and estimated quantity (100 pcs for a first order)
Sizes needed (Twin / Full / Queen / King or OEM sizes, or your own size chart)
Warmth level: lightweight / all-season / extra warmth
Filling preference and shell option (down-alternative synthetic fill / quilted cotton-polyester shell)
Label and packing requirements (own brand or neutral)
Whether you want a wash-tested sample before bulk
Email the list to info@comfytouch.cn or call +86 18156986179. If you are comparing suppliers, ask each of them for a wash test on the sample — that single step tells you more than any spec sheet.

Frequently asked questions
Is a down alternative comforter machine washable?
Yes — that is the main reason hotels buy it. Wash and drying instructions go on the care label per the shell and fill used; we recommend running a wash test on your sample before bulk so the results are confirmed on your own equipment.
Will the filling clump after washing?
Box quilting keeps the fill distributed, which is what prevents clumping and cold spots. You can verify it on a sample: wash, tumble dry, then check the corners and seams.
What filling does a down alternative comforter use?
A down-alternative synthetic fill. Exact filling composition, filling weight and any performance figures for your order are confirmed against the batch test report on request or with the sample.
Can it feel as fluffy as a down comforter?
It can look and sleep close to down, especially in an all-season weight, but the feel is different and we will not pretend otherwise. The honest test is the sample on a bed — if you send us a reference photo, we will match the look and loft direction rather than guess.
What is the MOQ for a wholesale down alternative comforter order?
100 pcs for a first order, depending on size, warmth level and shell. A sample order can come first.
Can you make it under our own brand with our own shell or quilting pattern?
Yes — OEM and ODM: your label artwork, quilting pattern, size chart and packing. Send the artwork with the enquiry and we will confirm at sampling stage.
