When a duvet or a pillow leaves our factory, the bag around it is doing three jobs at once. It protects the product in transit, it has to work on a retail shelf or in a hotel housekeeping store, and increasingly the end customer keeps it and reuses it at home. Buyers who come to us usually have the bedding side solved already. What they are still shopping for is the bag.

That is a different brief from buying packaging purely on a unit price. The questions we get are practical ones: will the closure still hold when a duvet is compressed for freight, can our logo go onto the bag without tooling costs that destroy the margin, and does the window actually show enough of the product to do the selling?

The bag has to work three times

Transit, shelf and reuse each ask for something different. Transit asks for a closure that does not split under compression and a body that will not scuff in a container. The retail or housekeeping shelf asks for a clear window and a printed information sleeve that carries your product story - the sleeve is often the only place a buyer can put the specifications and care information. Reuse asks for carry handles and a material that does not turn brittle sitting in a cupboard.

A bag that only solves the first job gets thrown away on arrival, and your brand never gets the second impression. The two constructions we ship most are a clear vinyl body with a fabric trim and carry handle, and a printed or quilted fabric bag with a zipper - the first for buyers who need the product visible, the second for buyers who want the bag to look like part of the product.

What you choose before we start

Four decisions shape the whole order, and they are cheaper to make before tooling than after.

Material - poly bags, clear PVC bags, non-woven bags or quilted fabric bags, in custom sizes. Closure - zipper or button, matched to the body size so the opening does not fight the fill. Handles and window - a carry handle and a clear window are separate choices, and a window changes how the sleeve artwork has to be laid out. Branding - custom printing, embroidery, woven labels and hang tags, so the bag, the label and the product all read as one identity.

Send your artwork with the brief - logo files, label wording and any sleeve layout you already have. When the artwork is the biggest variable, a physical sample settles more than a specification sheet does.

Sizing to your product, not to a standard list

Our bags are made to your product dimensions rather than sold from a fixed size chart, because two otherwise identical Duvets can need different bags. The two numbers that decide the fit are the finished packed size of the bedding and how flat you want it presented. A duvet compressed for sea freight needs a different allowance from one displayed full in a retail bag with a printed sleeve.

For reference, the large duvet-bag format we run most often is 56 x 35 x 57 cm, which takes a folded duvet or a multi-piece bedding set. Treat it as a starting point rather than a limit: smaller pillow formats are also in production, and everything else is cut to your own packed dimensions.

So send the packed dimensions and tell us how the bag will be displayed or stacked. We work the allowance from there rather than asking you to pick from a list. Trial orders are available, which is the sensible way to check the fit and the printing before you commit to a season.

From your artwork to the first shipment

It runs in four steps. You send the brief: packed dimensions, material preference, closure, branding and artwork. We come back with a quotation and the packaging construction we recommend. You approve a sample - the sample is where the closure, the printing position and the handle are settled. Then bulk runs, and the goods ship with the bags filled and sealed.

Our stated terms for custom packaging work are a minimum of 500 pcs per design, with samples arranged quickly so you can see the construction before production; production typically runs 10-25 days depending on the construction. Anything not fixed at that stage - load capacity, material thickness, transit performance - is confirmed against the batch test report on request / with sample rather than quoted loosely here. For buyers importing into the EU or North America, tell us the destination in the brief: sleeve wording, recycling marks and fibre or material declarations differ by market, and setting them at the printing stage costs nothing compared with relabelling after arrival.
